The proposition is based on rational building with simple housemodels that are repeated, varied and differentiated. The focus is to invest in well defined public spaces togheter with large green backyards in the neighbourhood.
The building that contains both a hotel, sports centre, meeting and administration premises have been given a logistic and needed facial lift. This has created possibilities of a more effective use of the premises.
A1 was invited by HSB, Uppsalahem and Uppsala kommuns industrihus to do a plan proposal for Librobäck, an industrial area to be converted to a new integrated and highly diversified neighbourhood in central Uppsala
In august 2008, A1 was given an assignement by Lynx Asset management to help them choose a new building for their business. With our help Lynx decided to settle in a premises in Norrmalmstorg. It was in grave need of repair but with a new staircase between the two floors and real estate agent who was gradually getting more and more interested about an improvement we succeded to create a workplace which came to satisfy the goal we had put up.
The purpose of the study was to examine possible possibilities for growth and different partners space of action in a unsecure future. The mission have been carried out togheter with Spacescape AB.
The overall goal in the rural district is to transform Upplands Väsby from a suburbia into Stockholm into a city with its own identity. The conditions are met: Upplands Väsby is one of Swedens 25 largest densely built-up areas and it's only Malmö, Stockholm och Lund that are more densely built.
Our Suggestion is to preserve the areas with relics of antiquity. A more clear street system where the streets are in a north-south direction have Eds lake water in the background connected to the surrounding streets in a continuous, open and living public room.
The proposition is one of four projects and is worked out togheter with the english engineers Hanif Kara and Hoare Lea along with landscape architect Johan Paju. The energy efficient and ecologial shaped buildings are meant to, besides the citytrack new station, contain both hotel, officeses and apartements along with seven gardens with spectacular views over the city.
The main purpose with the proposition is to introduce a new way of seeing the building of the psychical training. Today most building for sports, both new and old climate protected floors on the ground. It has been a cheap way of sportcenters when the supply of ground have been good. But as Stockholm is getting more and more buildings the struggle for land between different parties been sharpened.
Our idea is to see a new way at the building for sporting. We want to build for psychical education in the same way we normally build for other needs in central Stockholm: from above.
The office of HSB, a large housing company, is placed in a residential building ; making it difficult to find valid solutions for the plan disposition, acoustics, technical supplies, etc. Our proposal aimed at unifying the different parts of the office with undulatiing walls, which also serve as sound diffusers, and that together with the soft ceilings and carpets create a warm and quiet ambience.
